Lectures on Tap #6: The Brain Behind the Pain
Lectures on Tap is back, this time with Dr Emilė Radytė, Co-Founder and CEO at Samphire Neuroscience.
Emilė is a Harvard and Oxford-trained neuroscientist, Forbes 30 Under 30 in Healthcare, and one of the rare founders who turned lab research into a medically certified product. Her company built Nettle, the world's first approved wearable that treats menstrual symptoms through brain stimulation instead of hormones or painkillers. It sold out within a day of launch to a 15,000-person waitlist and received EU medical certification in three years, the fastest ever.
In this session, Emilė will take us through:
🟣 How the brain processes pain — and why conditions like PMS and PMDD are neurological problems, not just hormonal ones
🟣 The science behind non-invasive brain stimulation and how it can change the way we treat disease
🟣 What it takes to build a medtech company from a lab bench to clinical approval
🟣 The massive gap in women's health research — and why it's finally starting to close
This event is open to all. Bring your friends, colleagues, or family - come to learn, explore ideas, and stay for networking afterwards.
