In this introductory session, explore the fundamentals of impact investing and how it balances financial return objectives, operates within an external investment management context, and supports the alignment of investment portfolios with long-term sustainability commitments.
What you will learn about impact investing:
Where it fits on the responsible investment spectrum
How it relates to financial return objectives and fiduciary duty
How it works in an external investment management context
How it helps align overall investment portfolios with sustainability commitments (e.g. climate action, Indigenous economic reconciliation)
Who is this introductory session for?
Anyone curious about impact investing
Individuals, executive leaders, staff teams, board members, trustees, investment committee members (e.g. foundations, endowments, pensions, family offices, faith communities)
By end of the session, participants will have gained:
High-level, practical understanding of impact investing and;
Be able to initiate conversations within their organization about developing or strengthening impact investing strategies
Tools and templates will be introduced for participants to use in internal discussion.
Participants also have option for a 30 minute follow up call to discuss practical application of session’s learnings.
