Every choice about how we create value also determines what we rely on and ultimately reshapes a familiar decision: what should we build ourselves, what should we buy — and what should we simply not build?
As these dependencies become more critical to the business, the question shifts from value creation to mastery.

Norman Deschauwer, CEO of Pyxis, will host the day and moderate the panels.
Keynote
Xavier Lombard is co-founder of Leexi, a European leader in AI notetaking with more than 4,000 paying customers. A former research engineer at EDF, he founded a renewable energy startup that became Dalkia Biogaz, then launched Seraphin, Belgium’s first digital insurance broker, which became yago and was sold in 2021.
Panel
Francisco Ortega is VP of Engineering at N-SIDE. With a PhD in Applied Sciences and over 20 years of executive IT leadership, he drives Agile flow optimisation, continuous improvement and practical AI integration across software engineering teams.
Philippe Laurent is a lawyer at the Brussels Bar and counsel at Marx Van Ranst Vermeersch & Partners (MVVP), advising on intellectual property and IT law, including data protection, cloud computing and AI. He will bring the IP perspective to the panel.
Valérie Zapico is CEO and founder of Valkuren, a Belgian Data & AI company. She leads the Brussels chapter of Women in Big Data, was named among the Inspiring Fifty Belgium in 2020 and in the Top 3 ICT Women of the Year in 2023.
Dominique Pellegrino is CEO and co-founder of Vertuoza, a management platform for construction companies serving nearly 4,000 SMEs in 5 European countries. Before Vertuoza, he spent 14 years at EASI in sales, management and software business development.

By Guillaume Vanhalst is Managing Director of Artefact Belgium, where he advises executives in financial services, retail and manufacturing on their AI transformation. He co-founded Effixis in 2022, which joined Artefact in 2024.

Sébastien Couturiaux is CTO at Monizze, a Belgian fintech specialising in employee benefits and payment solutions. He has over 25 years of experience in software engineering and technology leadership, including roles at BSB/Vermeg and EMAsphere.
