About Event

Ndifuna Ukwazi will host screenings of Not in My Neighbourhood on 25 March 2026 at UWC

This screening takes place at a critical moment, as the City of Cape Town’s draft Temporary Emergency Accommodation policy is open for public comment until 31 March 2026. This public participation process will help determine whether displaced people are met with dignity or pushed further to the margins.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion unpacking our landmark Constitutional Court victory in Commando and Others v City of Cape Town (the Bromwell Street matter). This ruling compelled the City to develop the Temporary Emergency Accommodation policy which is now open for public comment.

The discussion will focus on what the draft policy means in practice, what you need to know, and how you can meaningfully engage with the policy.

See you there!
