Franciscan Monastery Garden Guild Fall Festival
Celebrate community, local agriculture, and the autumn harvest at the 3rd Annual Franciscan Monastery Garden Guild Fall Festival! This free, family-friendly event has something for everyone:
The Lamb Mowers of Fairfax (10:00 AM – 1:00 PM): Interact with a live flock of sheep that naturally clears invasive plants and fertilizes the soil.
Live Music (Noon – 4:00 PM): Listen to local Brookland band Half Pint Harry playing in the fields.
Family Fun: Enjoy a variety of children's activities including moon bounce house.
Autumn Artisans & Eats: Browse an expanded market of local craft vendors and grab a bite to eat from community food stalls.
Pumpkins with a Purpose: Pick up your pumpkins, fall flowers, and garden bulbs! The monastery’s urban farm donates 8,000 pounds of fresh produce to local pantries annually, and your purchases directly fund the seeds and soil that keep this community harvest going.
Meet DC Natives at the Festival
All of that bountiful, donated produce wouldn't be possible without our local pollinators! Stop by the DC Natives table to say hello, chat with our Block Captains, and learn how you can support the hardworking bees, butterflies, and ladybugs that keep our community farms thriving!
Parking/Transportation
Street parking is available on neighborhood streets including on Otis, 16th, 15th, 17th and Newton Streets.
The event is also a short walk from the C71 bus stop at 18th & Otis St NE.
