About Event

Two hours. Zero spreadsheets forced on you. And yes, you’re allowed to let the robot help.

Most of us treat budgeting like flossing: we know we should, we feel a little guilty that we don’t, and every app we download gets deleted by Friday. Usually that’s not a discipline problem. It’s that the budget was never connected to what you actually want or value, so of course it didn’t stick. This workshop is about fixing that, and showing you where AI genuinely helps.

Here’s the deal: budgeting was never supposed to be a punishment. A good budget works for you, not against you. Over two hours we’ll unpack what budgeting really is, why the usual approaches fall flat, and how AI can make the whole thing easier to actually keep up with.

What we’ll get into:

• What budgeting actually is (and why it fails when it’s not tied to your goals and values)

• Goal setting first: the piece everyone skips, and the reason budgets stick or don’t

• Where AI fits: the processes and prompts that take budgeting from “someday” to “doable,” minus the midnight spreadsheet

• The risks and the precautions: how to use these tools with your personal financial information safely, so you know what to share and what to keep to yourself

You will not be put on the spot or forced to build a budget in front of strangers. This isn’t a supervised worksheet. It’s me handing you the tools and the know-how so you can go build one on your own, whenever you’re ready, feeling confident that you actually can.

Who it’s for:

Students who don’t pay rent yet and want a head start. Adults with real experience who want to fold AI into what they already know. Anyone navigating a big change, from a career pivot to going all-in on their own business. Same room, different lenses, and we’ll flex the examples toward whoever’s actually in it.

One honest note: I share what’s worked from real, lived experience, not one-size-fits-all financial advice. I’m not a CPA or a CFP, and I won’t tell you which company, product, or number is “right” for you. What I will do is give you the tools to decide for yourself.

Want a second set of eyes after? Everyone who comes gets a free 30-minute call with me as a follow-up: bring your questions, talk something through, or show me what you built.

Hosted by Liza Lytle, founder of One Percent Better, in partnership with Zak Morris. Liza took over her family’s finances at 15, bought her first property at 18, and now coaches young adults to get competent and confident with money, one percent better at a time.

Bring a goal. Bring your questions. Let the robot do some of the work
