WORK IN PROGRESS: A Weekly Job Search Support Group + Brainstorm
Looking for work can feel like a full-time job—but you shouldn’t have to do it alone.
Work in Progress is a welcoming weekly gathering where job seekers help one another make connections, generate ideas, overcome roadblocks, and level up toward their next opportunity.
Bring your résumé, LinkedIn profile, job-search questions, career goals, or simply yourself. Together, we’ll brainstorm companies and roles, exchange useful resources, practice talking about our experience, identify potential connections, and help each person determine their next move.
This isn’t a presentation or another awkward networking event. It’s a collaborative working session where everyone has something to contribute—even if they’re still figuring out what they want to do next.
### Each week may include:
Quick introductions and progress updates
Job-search challenges and group brainstorming
Participant “hot seats” for personalized ideas and feedback
Résumé, LinkedIn, application, or interview support
Shared job leads, resources, and possible connections
A focused action sprint
One achievable “level-up” goal for the coming week
Occasional visiting professionals, recruiters, founders, and career experts
### Weekly Game Plan
11:30–11:40 — Check In
Introduce yourself, share what kind of work you’re looking for, and celebrate any progress from the previous week.
11:40–12:15 — Career Quest
Work through a practical weekly challenge such as improving your introduction, finding better opportunities, strengthening your résumé, preparing for an interview, or expanding your network.
12:15–12:45 — Brainstorm Hot Seats
Selected participants share a specific challenge. The group contributes ideas, leads, feedback, resources, and possible connections.
12:45–1:00 — Level Up
Choose one concrete action to complete before the next gathering, exchange contact information, and continue conversations.
### Who is this for?
Anyone looking for work, changing careers, returning to the workforce, exploring a new direction, seeking freelance opportunities, or simply trying to make their next professional move.
All industries and experience levels are welcome.
### Admission: $5 per person
