Talk + After Party: AMBEDKAR AS SOUNDSCAPE OF PROTEST IN MAHARASHTRA- FT YOGESH MAITREYA & MO RIGHTS
20 June | Wanakkam, Amsterdam
As part of Yogesh Maitreya's Ambedkar – Sonic Imagination of a Casteless Utopia, Sound of Protest is an experimental listening session exploring the sounds of resistance across geographies and histories.
Drawing from protest songs, speeches, chants, and sound fragments from different languages and regions of India, alongside sounds of struggle from around the world selected by Mo Rights, the session asks: What happens when these voices meet? What kind of soundscape emerges from the intersection of anti-caste movements and global struggles for justice? What emotions, memories, and possibilities does it evoke?
The listening session will serve as the starting point for a collective conversation on protest, solidarity, and the political power of sound.
