Passion Projects SF @ 111 Minna Gallery
Meet the artists behind the effect.
Passion Projects SF invites you to our inaugural preview exhibition at 111 Minna Gallery in San Francisco.
Those of us who work in visual effects and post production know these artists for the extraordinary images they have helped create for film, television and games. But there is another side to their work.
The paintings. The drawings. The sculptures.
Passion Projects SF was created to celebrate that work and the artists behind it, bringing their personal creative practices out of their studios and onto the walls.
Our preview exhibition brings six of our artists to the wall — with work in painting, mixed media, drawing, and photography, each piece shown alongside the films, television, and games they helped create: Joel Aron, Leigh Barbier, John Bell, Joe Ceballos, Jiri Jacknowitz, and Kim Smith. Open to the public, 21+.
Opening event is 6 - 10pm, Thursday October 22 or visit the gallery anytime after during normal Minna business hours.
We’ll be sharing 111 Minna Gallery that evening with fellow artist Randy Gaul, making for an evening filled with art, friends and community.
Come see the work. Meet the artists. Bring a friend.
This is a free, open event and no reservation is required to attend. RSVP here and we’ll keep you updated as event details are confirmed. You’ll also receive a calendar invitation so you can save the date.
Our inaugural exhibition will follow in winter or spring 2026/2027, expanding to the full roster and widening the range of work on view to include sculpture, metalwork, and encaustic alongside ceramics and additional offerings from our retail shop.
If you’d like to hear about this exhibition and what’s coming next from Passion Projects SF, sign up for our newsletter and follow along.
