The conversation | What does it actually take to build a digital economy that puts people, purpose, and long-term thinking ahead of short-term extraction?
We don't have all the answers, but we know good conversations happen over good drinks, so we're gathering a small, informal crowd at Tolhuistuin for exactly that.
Who’s in the room? | This one's for you if you're curious about who really controls the platforms and infrastructure we all depend on, whether different ownership models can make technology companies more resilient and purpose-led, or what business actually looks like when it's built to exist, rather than exit.
Mostly though, it's for anyone with an interest in this topic who wants to meet interesting people they wouldn't normally run into. We're deliberately mixing things up, so expect folks from steward-ownership circles, investors, founders, and purpose-driven organisations all in the same room.
The evening | The plan is simple: show up, grab a drink, and let the conversation go wherever it goes. We'll officially wrap up around 19:00, though knowing Amsterdam evenings, things might naturally continue from there.
We're keeping this one intentionally small, capped at around 30 people, so it stays easy to actually talk to everyone instead of shouting across a crowded room.
If you register, please do your best to show up; we'd rather keep the group tight and full of people who really want to be there.

Het gesprek | Wat is er écht nodig om een digitale economie te bouwen waarin mensen, missie en de lange termijn vóór kortetermijnwinst gaan? Daarover gaan we het hebben, met een drankje in de hand, in kleine kring in Tolhuistuin.
Voor wie | Voor jou als je je afvraagt wie de platformen en infrastructuur waar we allemaal op leunen daadwerkelijk in handen heeft, of andere eigendomsvormen technologiebedrijven weerbaarder en meer missiegericht kunnen maken, en hoe een onderneming eruitziet die is gebouwd om te blijven bestaan in plaats van om verkocht te worden. En voor iedereen die mensen wil ontmoeten die je normaal niet tegenkomt: verwacht een mix van steward-ownership mensen, investeerders, oprichters en purpose-driven organisaties.
De avond | Kom langs, pak een drankje en laat het gesprek gaan waar het gaat. Rond 19:00 ronden we officieel af, maar Amsterdamse avonden hebben hun eigen tempo. We houden het bewust klein — maximaal zo'n 30 mensen — zodat je echt met iedereen kunt praten. Meld je daarom alleen aan als je ook echt komt.
