About Event

Pierce County communities have no shortage of climate plans, strategies, and commitments—but what will it take to turn those plans into real-world action?

Join local elected officials, regional climate leaders, and community partners for a dynamic conversation focused on how city, county, and regional climate initiatives are aligning across Pierce County and the broader Puget Sound region. This event will explore where momentum is building, where challenges remain, and what is needed next to accelerate implementation and deliver meaningful climate pollution reductions.

The event will begin with a presentation highlighting the City of Tacoma Climate Action Plan, Pierce County Sustainability 2030, and the regional Comprehensive Climate Action Plan - along with key priorities, areas of alignment, and opportunities for collaboration across jurisdictions.

Pierce County Executive Ryan Mello will welcome participants where they will then hear directly from local elected leaders and practitioners during a roundtable discussion moderated by Representative Sharlett Mena.  The conversation will be focused on climate action already happening in the field—from transportation and clean buildings to resilience, climate resiliency, and the community partnerships helping bring these efforts to life.

The event will end with an informal networking mixer, offering attendees the opportunity to connect with fellow climate leaders, public servants, advocates, and community members. Light snacks and beverages will be available—bring your reusable water bottle!

Whether you work in government, advocacy, business, sustainability, or simply care about the future of Pierce County, this event is an opportunity to better understand the region's climate direction, learn from leaders implementing solutions today, and explore the partnerships needed to move from plans to action.
