Learning to Oil Paint (portrait)

​Join us for a relaxed, beginner-friendly introduction to oil painting.

​Through a guided portrait study, you'll become familiar with the unique qualities of the medium, including paint handling, brushwork, layering, and colour mixing. The class focuses on developing a strong understanding of mixing natural skin tones, creating depth through value and colour, and building confidence with the slow-drying nature of oil paints.

​No prior experience is required. Whether you're picking up a brush for the first time or looking to explore a new medium, this class offers a welcoming space to learn, experiment, and enjoy the process of portrait painting.

​Materials & Pricing
Your registration of $40 includes all materials needed for the class, including oil paints, brushes, mediums, palettes, and a canvas to take home. If you have your own brushes, paints, or canvas that you'd prefer to work with, you're more than welcome to bring them.

​No experience is necessary, and all materials are provided—just bring your curiosity.
