Lids Sorting Volunteer Session

​Join us for a hands-on, feel-good volunteering experience that’s all about keeping waste out of landfill, and giving plastic a second life! 

​The Banish Recycling and Diversion (BRAD) program is powered by our community, who recycle, support us and donate their time to help sort through hard-to-recycle items from across Australia. 

​Our BRAD Sorting Sessions bring together people who care about sustainability, community, and positive action — all while having a bit of fun. Join us as a volunteer, and help us protect the environment, one tricky item at a time!

​As part of the BRAD program, we recycle household plastic lids and turn them into new products with a much longer and more impactful lifespan - right here at Central Station.

​But before household plastic lids can be recycled and transformed, they need to be sorted carefully by colour and type. That’s where you come in!

​During our lid sorting sessions, we’ll work together to sort through plastic lids, separating them into different categories based on colour, size, and plastic resin code. This step is crucial, as it ensures the quality and consistency of the recycled material we use in our products.
