AI-Powered Formative Assessment: Results from a Controlled University Study
Dr. P.K. Shukla, Shah Family Endowed Chair in Innovativeness at Chapman University, ran a controlled experiment using AI-generated practice quizzes in his Operations Management course.
The result: Students who used the practice quizzes scored 85.94% vs 82.22% in the control group (p=0.031). After the study, both groups asked for AI-powered formative assessment.
