Snorkel-Out For Climate 2.0
Building off our successful Australian First Snorkel-Out for Climate in 2025, we are going BIGGER and BETTER! In partnership with Dive Centre Bondi, we'll be wrapping up CAW SYD this year with a splash.
Location: Clovelly Beach Aquatic Reserve (Meet at Clovelly Surf Life Saving Club)
Time: 9:30 am – 11:30 am
BYO GEAR (mask, snorkel, fins)!!!
On March 15, we mark one year since the first signs of a harmful algal bloom appeared off South Australia’s coast — a crisis that is still affecting marine life, dive communities, and coastal livelihoods today. To stand in solidarity with South Australian divers and raise awareness about the growing impacts of climate change on our oceans, hundreds of divers and snorkellers will gather for a community snorkel-out.
This event also marks the close of the Summer of Solidarity, a national campaign connecting dive communities across Australia and amplifying the voices of people who witness climate change underwater every day.
We will begin the the Snorkel-Out inside the Clovelly Beach Surf Club for a few quick climate chats from some incredible scientists, Sarah Han-de-Beaux (Spot a Shark) and Dr. Martina Doblin (Director and CEO of Sydney Institute of Marine Science), and a site/safety briefing from the wonderful team at Dive Bondi. Doors will be open from 9am but we will get started at 9:30am so you have plenty of time to arrive - you don't want to miss the briefing (or the group photo)!! Then we'll head to the water!
Whether you're a diver, snorkeller, ocean lover, or simply curious to learn more — everyone is welcome.
Come along, bring your snorkel, and stand with Australia’s dive community for a healthy ocean.
