Velocity: Advancing Space Force Capabilities in Cislunar Space - Industry Engagement Day
SpaceWERX, in partnership with the DAF Cislunar Coordination Office, requests your presence on October 20, 2026, for a collaborative forum focused on addressing capability gaps to operate in cislunar space. This event aims to facilitate connections between innovative commercial providers and government mission leaders ahead of the upcoming funding opportunities.
Recognizing that operations beyond GEO and into cislunar space represent a strategic area of importance, this assembly convenes key government, industry, and innovation leaders to address the future needs, challenges and solutions needed to operate in and through cislunar space. Join us to connect with the people building, funding, and advancing the next generation of space technologies.
Strategic Focus & Technical Focus Areas
The goal of this Velocity event is to communicate gaps and needs directly to industry, foster collaborative ideation, and accelerate high-quality proposals for Direct-to-Phase II (D2P2) prototype awards.
This event focuses on finding innovative solutions that support future cislunar operations in three core focus areas with an emphasis on developing space-rated hardware that meet cislunar interoperability standards:
Space Domain Awareness (SDA): Expanding sensing coverage, cislunar surveillance, and tracking custody beyond the GEO volume through advanced on-orbit sensors.
Communications Infrastructure: Cislunar-capable communications systems (space-qualified antennas, radios, receivers, transmitters) supporting both RF and optical comms architectures that enable consistent and reliable communications in the cislunar domain.
Deep-Space Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT): Sensors or suite of sensors that can act as an integrated package to provide, supplement or enhance PNT capabilities in cislunar space.
