Teaching Coding Agents What's Already on Drupal.org

​Ask a coding agent to build something in Drupal, and it will cheerfully invent a module that doesn't exist, or hand-roll one that's been on Drupal.org for a decade. Marcus Johansson (marcus_johansson on d.o) joins us to demo a DDEV add-on that runs a local MCP server with agent-consumable documentation for roughly 10,300 Drupal contrib modules. Your AI client connects over HTTP and gets hybrid search (lexical BM25 plus semantic) and compact per-module docs, so the agent can understand and operate a module without reading its source. Everything runs on your own machine, about 16 GB of RAM, no GPU required.

Marcus will show how the knowledge base gets built, how to install the add-on and register it with Claude Code or Claude Desktop, and the evals that demonstrate it actually improves agent output instead of just feeling like it does.

The add-on is being handed over to the Drupal AI initiative, which will take on maintainership going forward. So we'll also talk about what that means for the project's roadmap and how to get involved.
