Stand-Out In Games - Job Hunting Workshop
Join us for this exciting new workshop focusing on job hunting strategy in the video games ecosystem, brought to you by Sussex Games and Just Wright.
The last few years have been a challenging time for job seekers of any career, especially those looking to get into new, emerging industries like video games and esports where not only is there an expected 'difficulty level' for jobs yet there have also been mass layoffs and unethical practices taking place that even leaves longstanding senior talent struggling to find new work in this everchanging climate.
Such pressures and stresses can isolate people, reducing confidence, and overall prevents the wider industry from growing and accessing amazing talent.
In this workshop, we aim to equip those struggling to find work currently in the video games industry, regardless entry or senior talent, the tools to navigate the current job market, explore how people can stand out further, and highlight resources to aid in their job search.
What exactly will gets covered in the workshop?
How to refine your portfolio and resume to make greater impact on recruitment processes and hiring professionals.
What preparation to consider before, during and after interviews to bring out your best.
What resources and support there is out there to support you in your job search.
Tips and tricks to not only maximise your efforts while job hunting, yet also ensure you don't burn out, continue to learn and value yourself!
By the end of the workshop, we hope attendees will leave confident and empowered.
All are welcome, especially students graduating from video games courses and those affected by redundancies.
