About Event

🤖 Robotics Weekend Hackathon: December 6-7 in Munich

Real robot arms. Real learning. Real fun. 100% free.

RoboTUM is hosting a high-energy 2-day robotics hackathon where teams will work hands-on with LeRobot SO-101 robotic arms and explore modern robot-learning techniques — from diffusion policies to VLA (Vision-Language-Action) models that connect perception, instructions, and robotic motion.

This hackathon is open to both experienced builders and highly motivated beginners.

Never programmed a robot arm before? This is your perfect start.

🔧 What You’ll Be Working On

  • A pair of SO-101 robot arms per team

  • Training diffusion-based control policies

  • Experimenting with VLAs (e.g., GR00T, OpenVLA)

  • Fine-tuning policies or building your own robot behaviours

  • Designing creative demos or solving small sponsor challenges

  • Collaborating inside a fully equipped robotics workshop

🧠 Mentors & Industry Guests

Engineers and researchers from several companies will be on-site to give talks, share insights, and support your work.

And yes, a humanoid robot will be running around cheering you on. 🙌🏼🤖
