Denouncing intensive farming is not enough. How can we take concrete action to overcome this unsustainable system for animals, human health, and the ecosystem?
Let’s discuss it together on October 23 at 5:00 PM, at the People’s Assembly to Stop Intensive Farming convened by Eumans and Food For Profit.
A year ago, when Food For Profit was released, you signed a petition along with 11,366 other European citizens to stop Common Agricultural Policy subsidies to the intensive farming industry. The European Parliament’s Petitions Committee didn’t even debate our request: they simply closed the petition, claiming that the EU is already taking action to improve the sustainability of farming.
After hearing from experts who will introduce different aspects of the intensive farming issue, we will split into virtual breakout rooms to discuss each topic in detail and build concrete proposals. The topics will include: ● CAP 2027: What reforms are possible for a fairer, more sustainable Common Agricultural Policy without subsidies for intensive farming? ● Territories: What political, legal, and journalistic actions can stop the creation of new intensive farms at the local level? What methods can we learn from one case to another across Europe? ● Legal actions: Is it possible to take a case to the European Court of Justice to stop EU funding for meat-based product advertising? What other legal initiatives can be pursued?
October 23 will only be the beginning. Join us to give life to a movement aimed at eliminating intensive farming from Europe once and for all.
