โVisit one of Tokyoโs most iconic historical landmarks and recreate the experience in the world of Minecraft Education in this special one-day STEAM event.
โThis unique hands-on program combines history, culture, architecture, programming, design thinking, engineering, and digital creativity.
โIn the morning, participants will visit the Imperial Palace, one of Japanโs most important historical and cultural landmarks, on a guided tour.
โWhile learning about the history of the Imperial Palace and its role in Japan, participants will observe beautiful stone walls, bridges, gates, gardens, and traditional Japanese architecture.
โParticipants will take photos and sketch architectural features that catch their attention, while experiencing how architects, engineers, and game creators observe and analyze real-world structures before recreating them in digital spaces.
โAfter lunch, we will move to Tokyo Innovation Base (TiB), where participants will work in teams to recreate the Imperial Palace in Minecraft Education using the materials they collected during the morning.
โThe afternoon workshop will not start with children immediately sitting in front of a computer.
โFirst, participants will spend approximately 1.5 hours observing, analyzing, brainstorming, and designing based on the photos and sketches they collected during the morning.
โWorking in teams, they will develop ideas, use paper and whiteboards to plan their structures, divide roles, and decide what they want to build and how they will build it in Minecraft.
โThey will then have approximately 2.5 hours of screen time to build and program their creations using Minecraft Education.

โRather than simply spending time in front of a screen, participants will experience a process similar to that used by architects and engineers:

โBeginners can start by enjoying hands-on building while gradually being introduced to programming concepts.

โMany Minecraft events begin in front of a computer.
โThis event starts with seeing and learning from the real world.
โParticipants will visit the Imperial Palace, experience its history, culture, and architecture firsthand, and then use what they observed to recreate it in Minecraft Education.
โThey will also explore how programming can be used to automate construction, developing both creativity and logical thinking at the same time.
โThis is a unique STEAM learning experience combining history, culture, architecture, design thinking, programming, engineering, and technology.
