Before GPS, sailors used dead reckoning to estimate their position from speed, heading and time. Each small error compounded until a star or landmark showed where they really were.
Frontier AI research can feel much the same. During NeurIPS 2026 Sydney, join other frontier AI researchers on the waterfront for food, drinks and conversation about how you measure progress when benchmarks saturate, long-horizon errors compound, and the right answer is hard to verify.
