From the Lab to Everyday Life: A Guided Tour of incdECOIND

How do we find out what is in the water we use, the air we breathe, or the soil beneath our feet? And how do research findings become practical solutions for protecting the environment?

As part of Climate Change Summit Week, join us for a guided tour of the National Research and Development Institute for Industrial Ecology, ECOIND, for a closer look at the work behind environmental research.

Founded in 1977, INCD ECOIND is Romania’s National Research and Development Institute for Industrial Ecology. Originally focused on wastewater treatment, it has expanded its work to address water, air, and soil pollution, waste management, assess the environmental impact of industrial activities, and develop technologies for cleaner production. By connecting applied research with practical challenges, ECOIND helps businesses and communities understand and reduce their environmental footprint.

The visit aims to introduce participants to the institute’s work and explore how research connects to the challenges facing cities, communities, and businesses. It is an opportunity to ask questions and understand how science can impact the decisions that shape our everyday lives.
