​pleb.fi miami: scaling bitcoin

• ​saturday december 6th morning: workshops + talks on scaling bitcoin

• ​saturday december 6th evening: hackathon kickoff (with cuban coffee, sleep later)

• ​sunday december 7th morning: hackathon (build under the miami sun)

• ​sunday december 7th evening: hackathon demos (and maybe some live music to celebrate)

​the theme? scaling bitcoin

​it’s going to be off the chain! the talks and workshops will get you inspired, then you'll have 24 hours to hack something that actually works

​what is this “hackathon” you speak of?

​it's all about the friends you make on the journey to scaling bitcoin. create a team for a 24-hour sprint where teams build and demo ideas that push bitcoin's limits. use the knowledge dropped in the workshops and talks to score the top prize for best submission. prizes? see below.

• ​5,000,000 coins (₿0.05)

​2nd prize

• ​1,000,000 coins (₿0.01)

​3rd prize

• ​250,000 coins (₿0.0025)

​Design and User Experience

• ​1,000,000 coins (₿0.01)

​basic rules

​no cheating. teams up to 5 people. remote members are allowed, even fully remote teams can compete. everyone must register before the 6pm kickoff on saturday and show up (or call in) to demo the same time on sunday to qualify

​judging criteria

​submissions should explore scaling frontiers and build upon the topics covered during saturday's talks and workshops. come up with fresh ideas, give a functional demo, and show code for a high score

​why are we charging money?

​admission = commitment + caffeine + croquetas. broke? register anyway, scaling bitcoin shouldn't scale your wallet pain.
