DocJam
DocJam: Coffee, Chats, Documentary and Snacks 🎬 ☕ 🍩
DocJam is a new community with one purpose, to make documentaries happen.
Working in partnership with The London Documentary Network, our first gathering will take place on Sunday 22 November from 10am for a relaxed morning of coffee, conversation, documentary and - naturally - some jam-inspired snacks. Yes, there will be doughnuts! 🍩
Arrive anytime from 10am for coffee, tea, snacks and a chance to meet other documentary makers and enthusiasts. We’ll spend the morning hanging out, getting to know each other and hearing what people are working on.
Then we’ll head into the cinema at BLOC, Queen Mary University of London - a 60-seat cinema with 4K projection and Dolby Atmos sound - to screen a documentary made by one of our community members.
After the film, we’ll host a Q&A and discussion with the filmmaker, with the emphasis firmly on encouragement, and supporting the process of making documentaries.
Future DocJam screenings will showcase more films from within the community too, so if you’ve made something you’d like to share, we’d love to hear from you.
Schedule (approx timings)
10:00am - Arrive, coffee, tea, jam-inspired snacks & meet the community
11:45am - Move into the cinema
12:00pm - Documentary screening
1:00pm - Q&A and discussion with the filmmaker
2:00pm - Finish
What better way to start a Sunday? Coffee, snacks, good conversation, inspiring documentary people, a film on a proper cinema screen - and the chance to support a filmmaker on their journey.
This launch event is completely free, but spaces are limited, so please register early.
Feel free to bring snacks of your own too (jammy ones encouraged 🍓).
Whether you’re an experienced documentary maker, just getting started, or simply love documentaries, come and join the jam. 🎬
This is a small community event, so registrations are subject to approval to help us keep the group relevant.
