About Event

Host: Shaf, Co-founder & CEO, Oviato

Format: In-person workshop + live demo

Duration: 60 minutes

Audience: Web3 founders and builders at NS

Overview

Most Web3 products lose users before they ever experience the product.

We have normalized:

● Seed phrases as onboarding

● Browser extensions as infrastructure

● Gas confusion as UX

● Wallet fragmentation as default

This session breaks down why onboarding is structurally broken in Web3 and shows how to design onboarding systems that feel like modern internet products while preserving the self-custody paradigm of decentralized technology.

The workshop includes practical design principles and a live walkthrough of how to implement passkey-native onboarding using the Oviato stack.

Session Structure (60 Minutes)

1. Why Web3 Onboarding Is Broken (15 minutes)

● Why seed phrases are key management ceremonies, not onboarding

● How browser extension dependency breaks mobile-native experiences

● Why “Connect Wallet” is not a login strategy

● Multi-chain wallet fragmentation and cognitive overload

● How friction directly impacts activation, retention, and revenue

2. Principles for Modern Web3 Onboarding (15 minutes)

● Passkey-native authentication

● Invisible wallet creation

● Self-custody without seed phrase anxiety

● Embedded wallets instead of extension-first UX

● Chain abstraction without user confusion Real onboarding flows will be dissected to highlight what works and what breaks.

3. Live Implementation: Building With Oviato (20 minutes)

Hands-on walkthrough:

● Creating passkey-based wallets

● Using Ovi Connect SDK

● Removing browser extension dependency

● Designing login flows that feel like modern SaaS products

● Embedding wallets directly inside an application

Participants will see how to go from zero to embedded wallet onboarding in minutes.

4. Builder Access (10 minutes)

Network State founders will receive:

● Free credits to use the Oviato stack

● Dedicated implementation support

● Opportunity to experiment with improved onboarding flows during residency
