Opening Reception for 'Between Utopias and the Abyss'

​KALINER is pleased to invite you to the opening reception for Between Utopias and the Abyss by glassblower Austin Fields and painter Pàulla Scàvazzini.

​Working directly with hot glass, Austin Fields explores the medium as a fluid landscape, sculpted into organic forms that evoke shifting terrain and light. Her intuitive process allows forms to emerge spontaneously, often echoing the contours of the human body while drawing inspiration from natural environments, atmospheric lightscapes, and dreamlike states.

​Pàulla Scàvazzini's painting emerges in direct relation to space, to architectural scale, and to the ways in which the body perceives and traverses the environment, resulting in immersive, site-specific installations. Discover how Scàvazzini transforms the gallery space into an immersive installation space, plunging the viewer directly into one of her paintings.

​The show is on view from April 23 to May 30.
