So You Nuked Prod. Now What?

As engineers, we invest a great deal of time and effort into detecting and preventing production incidents. But when something does go wrong, how do we ensure we're prepared to cope at an emotional and political level, beyond reliance on technical rigour alone? Miles seeks to explore these questions with real-world examples from his time in the industry, and offers some tips and tricks for handling your next production incident.

Miles Greenwark

Miles is a Canberra-based Architect at Slalom. He works regularly with AWS and other cloud technologies and is passionate about digital sovereignty, cybersecurity, and performant teams. His presentation contains no AI-generated content.

Stop giving admin powers to your pipeline agents

Whether it's for convenience or laziness, we often grant broad admin permissions to our pipeline agents. It's part of why we've seen CI/CD credential hijack attacks increase over the last couple of years. Locking down these permissions creates tension with your engineers, generally leading them to find creative ways to bypass it. Let's look into a solution that can reduce your blast radius while keeping your engineers happy.

Sam Murphy

Sam works within the Digital Identity space, weaving complex security requirements into the platform that powers organisations. Regularly using AWS for enterprise integration, he has learnt a thing or two on how to apply best practices with actual reality.

You must register for this event.
