NTUT Focused Ultrasound & Brain-Computer Interfaces Seminar
Explore the frontier of brain-focused technology with leading voices in focused ultrasound (FUS) and brain-computer interfaces (BCIs).
Join us for a seminar bringing together pioneers in neuromodulation and neural engineering, including:
🧠 Dr. Alfonso Fasano, a movement disorders neurologist and clinician-scientist at Toronto Western Hospital and SickKids.
🔊 Dr. David Goertz, a biomedical physicist investigating focused ultrasound at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
⚡ Jonas Krauß, a visiting PhD Candidate from Universitätsklinikum Bonn, Germany studying neural modulation and lesion therapies for movement disorders.
🤖 Ludovic Boulanger, a PhD Candidate from Professor Roman Genov's lab developing artificially intelligent closed-loop implantable neural interfaces for treating drug-resistant epilepsy.
You'll hear how focused ultrasound (FUS) is being used to treat neurological conditions non-invasively, how brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) are restoring communication and movement, and where these two fields are heading together.
No prior neuroscience or engineering background is required. Students from all programs and years are welcome.
