That's exactly what Life Of A People have done.

Community-led media is not optional. It was and still is survival. When the state controls the narrative, communities build their own press to document, defend, challenge and publish their own histories and struggles.

Taking inspiration from the Race Today Collective (1969) and the Handsworth Defence Campaign (1980s), Life of A People frames zine-making as community defence, and uses art to highlight the reality of working-class life in Birmingham.

And it's only through bringing reality to life with art that we can really begin to understand the issues we face.

So join us, and together we'll work towards developing a revolutionary consciousness to combat the status quo.
