Volunteer with the Texas Children in Nature Network
We are filling Backpacks to encourage people to explore nature!
The Library Explorer Adventure Pack (LEAP) program provides free loaner backpacks filled with nature tools and educational materials to encourage physical activity, healthy habits, mental well-being, and sustainable living. This Nature Smart Library Initiative is made possible through a partnership between Texas Children in Nature Network (TCiNN), Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPWD), and the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).
What will you do?
Volunteers will assist with organizing, labeling, and assembling LEAP materials into 84 nature packs. These packs will be adopted by 12 schools and libraries across 4 counties in the Houston and Galveston area.
This is an effort led by Ms Alicia Fontenot.
