In Conversation: Allyson Williams MBE

​Allyson Williams arrived from Trinidad in 1969 as one of the Windrush generation, trained as a midwife and went on to transform maternity care across London, earning an MBE in 2002. Her other life began with Carnival: married to Vernon "Fellows" Williams, a founder of Notting Hill Carnival, she co-founded the Genesis mas band in 1980 and still plays mas every August.
