Bitcoin Pizza Day celebrates the first-ever Bitcoin transaction for a real-world item. On May 22nd, 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz received 2 Papa John's pizzas that he paid a fellow BitcoinTalk user 10,000 BTC to purchase and have delivered to him: A peer-to-peer-to-pizza exchange. Every year, Bitcoiners around the world celebrate this first transaction by eating pizza together with their local communities.
This event is in partnership with Bitcoin Magazine, Stand With Crypto, Nashville Degens, PizzaDAO, ENS, and World Pizza Champions. An additional RSVP link can be found here.
