About Event

Jonathan Hurst turned a career at the scientific frontier of how legged creatures move into Agility Robotics, one of the most consequential humanoid-robotics companies in the world. As Oregon State University's first robotics professor, he built the Dynamic Robotics Lab from scratch and helped establish the science of dynamic balance and locomotion in two-legged machines, then, in 2015, spun that research out of the lab to co-found Agility. Inspired by how the human body walks, lifts, and carries, Agility's robot Digit is a two-legged, two-armed humanoid built to take on the repetitive, body-breaking work of the warehouse floor, and it's already on the job in live commercial facilities run by partners like GXO Logistics.

Today, Agility Robotics is valued at roughly $2.5 billion, and is set to become the first humanoid-robotics company to go public in the U.S.
