About Event

The Relational Barometer: What kind of organisations are we creating around people?

A live, interactive hour with Dr Neil Wilkie and Dr Gwen Stirling Wilkie, authors of Rewire: How AI is Rewiring Relationships At Work.

Description:

Engagement surveys can tell you whether people are satisfied.

They cannot tell you whether people trust each other enough to tell the truth.

They cannot tell you whether colleagues still turn to one another for help, challenge and judgement.

They cannot tell you what is happening to the relationships through which work actually gets done.

In the final Rewire Live Conversation, we’ll introduce the Relational Barometer: a way of noticing what AI and new ways of working may be changing in the relational fabric of an organisation.

Before the session, you’ll be invited to complete the free Relational Barometer. We’ll bring the anonymised pattern into the live conversation and explore what it might be telling us.

We’ll look at questions such as:

  • What happens to trust when people increasingly turn to AI rather than one another?

  • Are we strengthening relationships at work — or quietly designing them out?

  • Where are challenge, mentoring, informal learning and human judgement beginning to thin?

  • What should leaders be paying attention to beyond productivity and adoption?

  • What kind of organisation are we creating around people as AI becomes embedded in everyday work?

The point is not to produce another score.

It is to notice what might otherwise remain invisible.

We’ll introduce some of the ideas from our new book Rewire: How AI is Rewiring Relationships at Work, share the emerging Relational Barometer pattern, and then open up the conversation.

You’ll leave with:

  • A different way of looking at the relational health of an organisation

  • A clearer sense of what AI may be strengthening, weakening or displacing between people

  • A practical set of questions you can take back into your own team or organisation

Who it’s for: leaders, managers, HR and L&D professionals, organisational practitioners, and anyone interested in the human and organisational consequences of AI at work.

This is the third of three sessions. The earlier conversations are Hollow Competence (18 November) and Creative Friction (2 December). Each stands alone.

Come ready to think, contribute and compare what you’re noticing in your own organisation.
