Compiling for tiny computers with Zig
MicroZig is a framework for building firmware for microcontrollers (MCU). The purpose is to provide convenience in the form of generated linkerscripts, MMIO access code, and more. But not so far that the system is abstracted away. We are here to program the hardware after all.
This session will cover some of the lore behind MicroZig, with some demos showing a barebones system on a breadboard, and a wearable conference badge.
Bio
Hey I'm Matthew Knight! I'm a long-time member of the Zig community and lead maintainer of MicroZig. I'm electrical engineer trained, but my career has mostly consisted of software, notably in cybersecurity. Last month I was proud to host the second instance of Software You Can Love in my town, Vancouver, Canada. The whole point of this is to build community, make friends and collaborate, so I'm looking forward to meeting everyone at Zig Maven.
