Health Innovation Team Meeting December 2025
This is our usually-combined November/December meeting (to avoid the holidays).
We may have a short meeting, but it is in keeping with the past few months where we have looked at the kinds of solutions that keep health systems going. That is, the business-level solutions that aid efficiency and lead to mission sustainability.
This time we will hear from KC-based CIQ Health. CIQ's solution presents health care providers with actionable solutions to optimize reimbursements. By utilizing CIQ's next-generation market analysis tools, partner network of expert negotiators, and ongoing practice optimization platform, practices can save time, accelerate financial improvement, and be well-positioned for future growth.
For payers, the solution offers price transparency data to better manage contracting processes, know market rates and benchmarks for improved competitiveness, examine proposed rates internally to align teams, set contract terms that shorten negotiation cycles, and track all rates from planning to renewals.
CIQ even has solutions for those who consult in this field.
Our presenter will be Dan Schwarzlander (and possibly colleagues). Dan has a deep and diverse professional background engaging multiple large-scale entities and, in particular, in healthcare ‘go-to-market’ leadership that includes consulting, operations, sales, product management and marketing. Among these are payor/provider engagement in addition to provider contracting/credentialing, brokers/benefits consultants/health plan exchange platforms, third party administrators, healthcare consumers/members, health data/analytics companies, and accountable care organizations.

This group has been meeting nearly monthly since 2013 to address matters of digital health as it applies to the Kansas City region. That means, literally, all things digital in health, and the activities can include driving new ideas, sharing experiences and insights, building collaboration toward action, learning from use cases from local to global, and highlighting local innovators. Originally driven by an appointed group of advisors, the meetings have long since been open to the general community of interest. The attendance typically is broad: healthcare provider organizations, payors, health departments, government, academic institutions, community-based organizations, industry consultants, entrepreneurs, and other interested parties, even an investor from time to time.
