Physical AI Hackathon & Demo Day: Build a Product You Can Hold #SFTechWeek
What happens when AI moves beyond the screen and into the objects, devices, and environments around us?
BUILD HUMAN FUTURES is a four-event SF Tech Week series bringing together creative talent, technology, venture, culture, and manufacturing to explore what deserves to be built in the physical world.
The series officially launches on October 5 at Google Community Space in San Francisco, with special guests including Mrs. Eleanor Ketter, Spouse of the Australian Consul-General in San Francisco, and Mrs.Kayci Bi, Honorary Chair of One Culture Foundation and Spouse of the Consul-General of Greece in San Francisco, alongside a YC alum and serial entrepreneur, a hardware-focused VC, cultural leaders, and members of the Bay Area innovation ecosystem.
On October 7 & 8, the building continues. Join founders, artists, designers, technologists, and curious builders for two hands-on Physical AI Build Days. Bring one idea, develop it with Vlight AI, pitch it in 60 seconds, and meet people who may help take it further. Everyone builds. Everyone pitches.
Bring an idea. Build it with AI. Pitch it.
Meet the people who may help take it further. No CAD. No engineering background. No technical co-founder required.
OCT 7 & OCT 8 — PHYSICAL AI BUILD & DEMO DAY
The building continues.
A hands-on session for creators, founders, designers, technologists, and emerging builders to develop product concepts, pitch them, receive feedback, and meet people across the startup and hardware ecosystem. We are also inviting VCs, YC alumni founders, experienced entrepreneurs, product leaders, and hardware experts to participate across the series as judges, mentors, and collaborators.
BUILD HUMAN FUTURES
The series explores a new model for early-stage innovation by connecting creative talent with AI tools, technical resources, industry knowledge, manufacturing networks, mentors, and capital earlier in the journey from idea to reality.
Across the series, participants build and pitch new product concepts while meeting people across entrepreneurship, investment, technology, design, culture, and manufacturing. Promising projects may continue through:
Mentorship
Prototyping exploration
Manufacturing connections
Human Futures Showcase opportunities
Future Human Futures Lab programs and cohort opportunities Build something real — and discover which ideas are worth continuing.
FOR INVESTORS, JUDGES & INDUSTRY
We are currently inviting investors, founders, product leaders, technologists, designers, manufacturers, and industry experts to participate as judges, mentors, and collaborators for the October series and future BUILD HUMAN FUTURES programs, including future hackathons in collaboration with Plug and Play.
