🎨 Activity details

A book club where London is more than just a setting—it’s a character. Each month, we’ll explore books that bring the city to life, then gather in a location connected to the story to discuss, share perspectives, and experience London through the lens of literature.

For our first gathering, we’ll be reading London Falling by Patrick Radden Keefe—a gripping work of narrative nonfiction that explores one of London’s most intriguing mysteries. Through meticulous reporting and investigative storytelling, Keefe takes readers into the city’s hidden worlds of espionage, politics, and power, uncovering the layers of a story that could only happen in London.

We’ll meet at a historic riverside pub overlooking the Thames with a unique connection to the world explored in the book. It’s the perfect setting to discuss Keefe’s investigation, the secrets hidden within the city, and the way London itself shapes the stories that unfold within it.

Whether you’re a lifelong Londoner, new to the city, or simply visiting and curious to explore London through books, everyone is welcome.

To join the conversation before the meetup, feel free to join our Fable group: https://fable.co/club/london-reading-with-marionette-280261403552

We have spoiler-free chat rooms for each chapter, where you can share your thoughts, reactions, and questions as you read—without worrying about spoilers.
