And for our first-ever People People LIVE, we didn’t want a typical podcast guest.

At Southwest Airlines, she led People under Herb Kelleher during the company’s legendary run — an era when Southwest kept turning profits while the rest of the airline industry struggled, and showed the business world that culture wasn’t a perk.
It was the strategy.
Then she did it again.
As one of the five founders of JetBlue, Ann helped build the values-driven culture that helped a brand-new airline become profitable in its first full year. Then she captured the philosophy behind it in Built on Values — the book many People leaders still point to when they talk about culture as an operating system.
