Making Time Work for You: Pitching Complex Scientific Ideas in a Snap

​Everybody's an expert in something. But they’re probably not an expert in your thing.

​The gap between what you know and what your audience can follow is where good ideas get lost. This crash-course scicomms workshop will help you craft a two-minute bridge from complex to clear.

Join OUTbio Seattle for a hands-on evening focused on turning science into stories that hook the audience in 00:07 and stick the landing by the 2-minute mark.

​Bring a topic you want to sharpen: how you describe your current research, a past conference poster, or a new paper you admire. You'll workshop it in a small group led by a facilitator who does scicomms for a living, and leave with a tighter way to talk about your work.

You’ll walk away a new skill to reach for when you need to:

• ​Explain your work to a skip or co-worker outside your specialty

• ​Talk through your experience in a job interview

• ​Present at a multi-discipline conference

• ​Sharpen a social post, a white paper, or an intro email
