About Event

AI tools promise to help us think faster, decide better, and stay ahead.

However, as more of our writing, planning, and even remembering becomes assisted, what parts of thinking are we outsourcing - at what point does AI stop helping, and start hindering us from thinking? What might that be doing to us, and the next generation?

Come challenge your assumptions with Jason Legge.

Co-founder and all-terrain storyteller at Moah Studio, Jason has led award-winning work for global brands like Nike, adidas, Meta, and Google, earning multiple Cannes Lions, a Peabody, and three Canadian Screen Awards.

When asked what he wishes more people would do, he returns to Socrates’ line: “The unexamined life is not worth living.”

An evening when slow bar meets reality check, this session explores the trade-offs of an increasingly AI-assisted life - equal parts sharing, discussion, and the occasional “wait… do I make sense?”.

The Space: Mad Roaster’s Slow Bar (MRSB)

Tucked away in Redhill, MRSB is a Singaporean social enterprise founded by former lawyer Madeline Chan, creating livelihoods for refugees in Thailand.

Whether you're an advocate of human-centric products or learner of sorts, this is your chance to geek out with fellow curious humans.

Bring your listening ears, opinions, and sense of humour. We'll provide the space, the vibes, and research of a corner of the world.

Fair warning: conversations may get unexpectedly thoughtful.

Bits and Bobs

  • 6.50pm: Doors open. Grab some bites, order a drink, and unwind.

  • 7.20pm: Introductions. Jason takes the spotlight.

  • 7.55pm: Thinking and/or toilet break opportunity.

  • 8.05pm: One question, multiple perspectives. Let loose your pertinent thoughts about the topic, or listen and chime in when discussions get juicy. We'll facilitate.

  • 8.30pm: Wrap-up, mingle, and connect with fellow humans.

P.S.

Do consider using PayNow as a payment method for less processing fees on SoCrates so we can ensure the amount goes towards dinner, printing materials, platform usage, and other misc. expenses as Stripe and Luma take 12-15% of total ticket price. We hope to see you there!
