Exhibition Opening & Fireside Art Chat
Want to meet a real-life artist (who's art is in a museum)? On October 8th, come join cARTie's Co-Founder, Clare Murray, and featured student-artist, Maya, for a playful exhibition walk-through, fireside art chat, and spirited art-making (with some of Maya's favorite snacks as creative fuel).
This is an exhibition opening and artist talk meant for families with young children, educators interested in learning more about what moves youth these days, artists willing to reconnect with their inner child artist, and folks who care deeply about art and museum education.
This special event breaks down barriers to the art world and puts the spotlight on student-artistry. For two hours, you will have a chance to get to know Maya, one of cARTie's featured student-artists, experience her art, and practice drawing from life alongside her.
About the exhibition
Drawing, drawing, drawing is a solo exhibition of works by student-artist, Maya McDougald. Maya is a new member of cARTie's Student Advisory Board. Already, she has helped paint an 8x20' mural with cARTie to inspire young kids to find joy in school. She is currently exhibiting artwork inside the cARTie art museum bus and is looking forward to sharing her passion for art with you and yours.
