"Hold to Reset": Volunteer day at Hoʻokuaʻāina

​Tucked into Maunawili Valley in the ahupuaʻa of Kailua, Hoʻokuaʻāina has spent nearly two decades transforming overgrown land into a thriving loʻi kalo, restoring the taro patch acre by acre while using the practice as a vehicle for healing and connection. From 8:30–11:30 am, we'll join their community workday tradition: hands in the mud, feet in the lepo, working alongside the farm's caretakers on real, needed tasks like weeding, clearing, and planting. Expect views of Mount Olomana in the distance, mud between toes, and a grounding opening protocol before the work begins. This is not a curated experience; it's genuine labor in service of something bigger than us, and that's exactly the point. Limited to 20 people. Wear clothes you don't mind losing to the mud, since no footwear is needed in the loʻi itself.
