Oshibana: Japanese Flower Art
Explore the delicate and meditative art of oshibana, a traditional Japanese practice of creating with pressed flowers and leaves. In this hands-on workshop, students will learn the history and cultural roots of oshibana. This workshop will incorporate elements of color therapy, exploring how different cultures interpret color and how those meanings can shape emotional expression, while guiding you to intuitively work with colors that reflect and support your emotional landscape.
This workshop is designed to be both creative and restorative, an opportunity to slow down and express yourself through botanical forms. All materials will be provided, including some flowers foraged by Azadi instructors and handmade paper! Each student will leave with a finished oshibana artwork.
