CLIMATE WEEK: Journal, Meditation, + Bird Walk in Central Park
As part of Climate Week, this Bird Journaling & Meditation Walk is a gentle, curiosity-led experience where we slow down, reconnect with ourselves, and reconnect with the nature that surrounds us every day.
Through birds, journaling, and meditation, we'll take time to notice the incredible wildlife that shares our city, reflect on our relationship with the natural world, and practice gratitude for the spaces we have the privilege to enjoy—and the opportunity to help protect.
This is not about being "good" at meditation.
This is not about having a perfect journal entry.
This is definitely not about needing any experience.
This is about trying something new in a space that feels safe, supportive, and maybe even a little magical.
✨ What to Expect
📝 30 minutes of guided journaling
A beginner-friendly journaling practice designed to help you reflect, notice, and connect with yourself while exploring your relationship with nature and the world around you.
🐦 30 minutes of guided bird meditation
We'll experience meditation through the sounds, movements, and presence of birds. The practice will be broken into simple, approachable sections, making it easy for first-time meditators to participate.
🌿 A mindful bird walk through Central Park
After journaling and meditation, we'll take a gentle walk together, grounding ourselves in the birds we see, the sounds we hear, and the beauty of one of New York City's most beloved green spaces.
💛 A low-pressure, neurodivergent-friendly, beginner-focused space where everyone is welcome.
There is no "right" way to participate. You can come curious, quiet, excited, nervous, or somewhere in between.
🕒 Timeline
11:00 — Meet-up & introductions
11:10 — Guided journaling
11:40 — Guided bird meditation
12:10 — Mindful bird walk
We'll move slowly, pause often, and let the birds guide us.
💛 What if I'm nervous?
That's completely okay.
Trying something new—especially something like meditation or joining a group—can feel vulnerable. You are not the only person who feels that way.
This space is designed for exactly that.
You do not need to be:
Experienced
"Good" at meditation
Outgoing
A bird expert
Confident
You just need to show up.
You can:
Participate quietly
Share as much or as little as you'd like
Take breaks whenever you need
Simply observe and enjoy the experience
All of my events are neurodivergent-friendly and neurodivergent-affirming. If you have any questions beforehand about the format or what to expect, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Whether this is your first meditation, your first journaling practice, or your first bird walk, you are welcome here.
🌎 Climate Week Reflection
Climate action begins with connection.
When we slow down enough to notice the birds singing overhead, the trees providing shade, or the small moments of life happening all around us, we begin to care for them differently.
This experience is an opportunity to practice gratitude—for nature, for ourselves, and for the countless people working every day to protect the places and wildlife we love.
Thank you for choosing to spend part of Climate Week reconnecting with yourself and with the natural world.
🌿 Reminders
No binoculars needed—we'll focus on being present with the birds around us.
Bring a towel or blanket to sit on.
Bring a journal and something to write with.
Wear comfortable shoes—we'll be walking.
Bring bug spray
Pack light and bring water.
I'll keep an eye on the weather and send updates if anything changes.
