How to pass the diligence screening
Your pitch got their attention. Now, can your company pass the diligence screening?
Getting an investor interested is only the first step. Once they start looking closer, the questions get harder, the details matter more, and small issues can slow down or even stop a promising deal.
Join us for the next Midday Connect with Juan Arango, Senior Manager of Venture Development at the University of Utah, for a practical conversation on what happens when a company moves from investor interest into screening and due diligence.
How to Pass the Diligence Screening
You'll learn:
✅ What investors are actually looking for during the initial screening
✅ The common red flags that can raise concerns before full diligence even begins
✅ What founders should have ready before investors start asking for documents
✅ How to respond to diligence questions clearly and keep the process moving
✅ What you can do now to make your company easier to evaluate later
The best time to prepare for diligence is not when an investor sends you a list of requests. It is before the process starts.
Juan has extensive experience evaluating early-stage companies and building diligence processes. He previously served as the first Due Diligence Director for Keiretsu Forum Northwest and Global, and helped create Keiretsu Forum's structured due diligence process for evaluating startup investments.
If you're raising now or preparing to raise, this session will give you a clearer idea of what investors may check, what can create concern, and how to be ready before the pressure starts.

About the Speaker
Juan Arango is the Senior Manager of Venture Development at the University of Utah's Technology Licensing Office, where he works with founders, researchers, and early-stage companies on venture development and commercialization.
Before joining the University of Utah, Juan spent years working directly with angel investors and startups through Keiretsu Forum. He served as its first Due Diligence Director for the Northwest and Global organizations and helped turn Keiretsu's diligence framework into a working process used to evaluate investment opportunities.
His experience gives him a close view of both sides of the table, what investors need to validate before writing a check, and what founders can do to make that process easier.
At Midday Connect, Juan will break down the diligence screening process, the issues that tend to raise questions, and how founders can prepare before investor interest turns into a deeper review.
