BTS Talk: Stop using free coaching calls to sell coaching
BTS biz talks are for one member to share a very real, biz building hot take with the community, to share the stories and details behind people’s different biz building practices, and to inspire other coaches and spark new ideas/discussion!
Our objective is that community members get a sense of how other Coaches are running their business and that Coaches get a chance to own their POV in service of the community 🙌
These events are open to the public and will be recorded for CC members 📹
Pooja's hot take 🔥:
Many coaches assume that if someone can just experience a taste of coaching, they’ll want more – and sign up as a client.
I get where this belief comes from:
The magic of coaching can be hard to put into words
When you DO try to explain it, you're afraid you sound clichéd or woo-woo
And the last thing you want is to be pushy or sales-y
So you think, “Let me just give them a free sample, and then they'll get it!”
But I think using free coaching calls to sell coaching is less effective for you – AND more importantly, it's less helpful to the client.
There are 7 questions every client needs to answer before they can decide whether or not to invest in coaching.
And if your free call isn't helping them answer those 7 questions, it's not helping them think clearly and powerfully about whether or not to invest.
(Because that's the goal – not a sale, but a clear, confident decision either way.)
These 7 questions are NOT answered in a typical coaching call.
Which is why I'm going to introduce you to a different beast:
The Consult Call.
I'll teach you:
How to frame it so that the right people sign up
How to structure it so you know what to do at every turn
How to run it so that every person leaves the call feeling better, clearer, and lighter – whether or not they end up working with you
I've used this method to make six figures in my business every year for the last 4 years.
And I'm excited to give it to you – not as something you “should” do.
But as a strong take for you to push strongly off of – like a swimmer pushing off the wall – to take it in the direction YOU want to go.
