About Event

Join your hosts Revere x Velvet, Neuco Academy and Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow for a global venture capital market update. We will discuss the state of the market across early stage primaries, late stage secondaries, digital assets and the exit environment.

Your speakers:

Chris Shen is the cofounder and COO of Revere, which is building the Bloomberg terminal for private alternatives, and is backed by Morgan Stanley and institutional VC funds. Prior to that, he was the cofounder of West 22nd Capital Advisers, a HK-based single family office, where he oversaw fund investments and was a member of the investment committee. Chris began his career as a corporate finance lawyer at Baker McKenzie, where he represented APAC issuers and sponsors on a wide range of transactions. Based in Asia from 2006-2019, Chris is admitted to practice law in Texas, is a SFC Type 1, 4, and 9 responsible officer and speaks fluent Mandarin.

Alex Johnson is the founder and CEO of Velvet, your AI for DPI. Velvet provides agentic AI solutions to enable investors to automate and scale their investment operations and diligence processes. Alex is also a prolific angel investor and has a diverse background in trading, entrepreneurship, and production. He splits his time between Los Angeles and Salt Lake City.

Jonathan Ting, CFA is the founder and CIO of NeucoAcademy, a special situations fund based in San Francisco that is focused on opportunistic LP secondaries. Previously, he was a principal at Industry Ventures, where he executed nearly $500m of opportunistic secondary, special situations and primary investments. Before that, he was a public markets investor running a long-biased fund as head of research.

Brandon Cho focuses on dual use and hardware investments as a partner at Drover Ventures, an early stage fund based in the Bay Area and Dallas. He is also a secondaries investment professional responsible for $1.3bn of equity deployment across 14 transactions at Jasper Ridge Partners since 2019. Before that, he worked at Investor AB (dba Patricia Industries) specializing in middle market buyouts. He started his career started in investment banking and restructuring at Goldman Sachs and Centerview Partners. He received his BSc in Economics and Social Policy from The London School of Economics and Political Science.

Simon Lancaster has spent over 15 years in product design and engineering, shaping groundbreaking technology at Apple, Google, and Blackberry. At SF-based Omni Ventures, he leverages this experience to identify startups that are rethinking manufacturing processes, from AI-enhanced robotics to automation systems that transform efficiency across sectors.

Gina King is a partner with Supernode Global, a venture capital firm backing early-stage B2B and consumer technologies that meaningfully enhance our personal and professional lives across Wellbeing and Productivity. With 25 years of global experience spanning Wall Street, startups, and emerging tech, Gina brings a unique cross-cultural lens and operator mindset to investing in the future of the human experience.

David Gan is the Founder and General Partner of Inception Capital, where he leads the firm’s early-stage Web3 funds, Inception Ventures and Inception Fund of Funds. Since 2016, David has invested in industry unicorns such as Arbitrum, Lido, and Circle during his time at Huobi, in addition to projects like Megaeth, Sonic, and Beam at Inception. He has also backed top-performing funds including Syncracy, Topology and Alliance DAO. Named a Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia honoree in 2019, David is dedicated to bridging the East and West by empowering founders and fund managers driving blockchain innovation.

Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow is the Singapore member firm of Baker McKenzie, operating as a joint law venture with Wong & Leow LLC.
