DJ101: Beginner-friendly DJ Workshop (MAR 28)
Curious about DJ-ing but don’t know where to start?
DJ101 is a beginner-friendly DJ workshop designed to give you insights on what do DJs actually do, not just turning knobs and dancing on stage. You'll get to build your musical identity as well as learning the technical basics of DJ-ing in one afternoon. The hands-on workshop is structured with the intention to be the starting point for your DJ-ing journey, providing you with direction and clarity.
We’ll be exploring:
the basic layout of most industry standard DJ equipments and software
how DJs decide what kinds of music they want to play
characteristics of music and how they fit in a DJ set
different types of DJs (and where you might fit)
how taste, intention, and context shape a DJ’s sound
DJ101 is perfect for you if you’ve ever thought:
“I like music but don’t know what I’d actually play”
“I don’t know what kind of DJ I’d be”
“I want to try DJing without committing to a long-term and expensive class”
"With my Spotify playlist and immaculate tasteI know I’ll cook ifI can DJ”
"I'm tired of watching YouTube tutorials without the real thing"
"Why doesn't my mixes sound as good as the ones playing on stage?"
